Niloufar Khonsari

Alum 2023, Fellow 2023
Bernstein Parker Activist Writer Fellow

As a war refugee, movement lawyer and founder of a collectively run immigration organization, Nilou has been active in the immigrant justice movement for the past 10 years. In line with their commitment to collective leadership and anti-oppressive systems, she created one of the first horizontally structured and worker-led legal nonprofits in the country, Pangea Legal Services. Nilou worked on a book sharing lessons from this experience titled, The Future is Collective. It is for BIPOC activists and nonprofit leaders in search of thought partners to build effective, decentralized organizations where internal cultural and infrastructural work is a concurrent, proactive element of organizing and fighting for more just societies.
