Nazineen Kandahari

Nazineen is a fourth-year medical student in the Program in Medical Education for the Urban Underserved at UCSF Medical School. She received her M.S. from UC Berkeley, where she also completed her undergraduate training with honors. Nazineen’s research expertise is in immigrant health, community-based participatory research, and health inequities. As an innovator and refugee herself, Nazineen is the Founder and Executive Director of Afghan Clinic, a public health initiative created with and for Afghan refugees. At Mesa Refuge, Nazineen will focus on writing opinion pieces on the beauty and strife of straddling conflicting worlds—as an Afghan refugee and American doctor.
