Janine Kovac  

Janine is a former ballet dancer and software engineer who graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in cognitive science. Her first book, Brain Changer: A Mother’s Guide to Cognitive Science, chronicles her experience as the mother of twins born nearly four months premature. Janine is currently working on Proposition, a novel that follows the sex-trafficking epidemic in Oakland from the dual perspective of survivors striving to create a better world for themselves and white-savior activists oblivious to the ways they are perpetuating systemic inequality.
