Leslie Acoca, MA, MFT, is a nationally recognized health and justice leader who is forging a health pathway for vulnerable, incarcerated girls. She created the Girls Health Screen—the only scientifically validated health and trauma screen for the 300,000 teen girls who get arrested annually. Leslie is also the Founder and President of National Girls Health & Justice Institute. She has a BA from Yale University, Master’s degrees in counseling and psychology from the University of San Francisco, and is a licensed psychotherapist. At the Mesa, she worked on her book, Pink Shackles: The Locking Down and Freeing Up of American Girls
