Jael Humphrey has worked in law firms, clerked for federal judges, and headed the police misconduct and criminal justice priority area at Lambda Legal. The National Black Lawyers Association named her to the top 40 under 40 in 2015. Jael was previously on the Board of Directors for Law Students for Reproductive Justice and is currently President of the Board of Black Women Build. While at the Mesa Refuge, she will be working on Girl In Motion, a young woman’s story of ascent from childhood instability in Children’s Homes and the court system to Yale Law School.
