Susannah Dainow is a published writer who has also worked as a public interest lawyer in Toronto. She has published personal essays in Ms. Magazine, The Toast, and Bitch, and received funding for residencies with the Community of Writers and the Vermont Studio Center. While at Mesa Refuge, Susannah worked on a nonfiction resource book for mental health patients called Mad Skillz. Based on 20+ years of lived experience and legal training, it teaches self-advocacy for people in the mental health care system.
