Solana Rice

Solana Rice was raised by a Black family of autoworkers, food and retail workers, and entrepreneurs who inspired her work ethic and a passion for improving the world for people of color. She is a dedicated advocate aiming to shape an inclusive and sustainable economy in the U.S. Prior to founding Liberation in a Generation, Solana led policy advocacy efforts at national think tanks Prosperity Now and PolicyLink. She has a Master’s in City Planning from MIT. Solana is also a Soros Equality Fellow. At Mesa, Solana worked on developing three tools for various scales of change: a deck of cards, a practice guide, and a concept paper for building a physical space that invites cohorts of organizers to dream and organize for an inclusive economy.
