Sabra Williams is an actor, host, founder of The Actors’ Gang Prison Project, and co-founder of Creative Acts, an organization that transforms urgent social justice issues through the arts and centers the voices of those with lived experience of incarceration. She was named a “Champion of Change” by President Obama, honored with a British Empire Medal for services to the Arts & Prison Reform by Queen Elizabeth, and awarded the Local Hero Award at the 2023 American Democracy Summit. She is a visiting lecturer at UCLA and an adjunct professor at USC. You can learn more about Sabra Williams here.

At Mesa Refuge, she worked on Beauty in the Beast: The Power of the Arts Behind Bars, a book that illuminates a crucial and effective response to the ravages of confinement. Sabra is the Pamela Krasney Moral Courage Fellow.
