Priscilla Ocen, PhD, is a Professor of Law at Loyola Law School. She teaches criminal procedure, reproductive justice, and about race, gender, and law. Her work explores how the intersection of race, gender, and class make women of color vulnerable to violence, incarceration, and criminalization. Priscilla’s writing has appeared in California Law Review and UCLA Law Review, as well as Atlantic Magazine, Ebony, and Al Jazeera. Priscilla is co-author (with Kimberlé Crenshaw and Jyoti Nanda) of Black Girls Matter: Pushed Out, Overpoliced and Underprotected. At Mesa, she worked on an article called “Policing Abortion,” a pitch deck for the Center for Community Alternatives to Policing, and did research on the relationship between somatics and law.
