Elena Botkin-Levy has worked at the intersection of audio production, education, and media-making for over 20 years. With a focus on amplifying queer voices, she started in community radio where she learned that holding space, asking questions and documenting is powerful. Elena started Gems Oral Histories to support individuals and communities in collecting and preserving stories. She has worked with Women’s Audio Mission, YR Media (formerly Youth Radio), outLoud Radio, and ZUMIX Radio. At Mesa, Elena produced examples of AR and oral history integrated storytelling to use as examples and to inspire future Chapter 510 audio programming for students. Elena is the Judith Tannenbaum Teaching Artist Fellow.
