Blaire Briody is an independent journalist and editor-at-large for The Fiscal Times. Her work has appeared in New York Times, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, UTNE Reader, BUST, and Cosmopolitan, among others. At Mesa Refuge she worked on The New Wild West: Black Gold, Fracking, and Life in a North Dakota Boomtown, a narrative nonfiction account of North Dakota’s oil boom.
