Allison Stevenot is Northern Sierra Mewuk from Calaveras County. As a sixth generation documented Mewuk basket weaver and acorn mush maker, she carries the traditional knowledge passed down through the women in her family. Allison’s involvement in her heritage led her to a career as an archaeologist in her ancestral homeland. She is honored to work closely with her ancestors and culture, preserving their story on their ancestral landscape.
