Allen D. Kanner

Allen D. Kanner is a Berkeley psychologist who helped establish the field of ecopsychology in the early 1990s. In 2000, Allen co-founded the national advocacy group Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood. He is the co-editor of Psychology and Consumer Culture: The Struggle for a Good Life in a Materialistic Society, and Ecopsychology: Restoring the Earth, Healing the Mind. At Mesa Refuge he worked on a book describing several partial alternatives to the dominant paradigm, covering law, work, and media, and the ongoing interplay of the structural and personal.
