Aimee Suzara is a Filipino-American poet, playwright, performer, and educator. Her poetry book Souvenir was a Willa Award Finalist. Her writing has been published in Orion Magazine, Raising Mothers, Poets.org, and Mom Egg Review, among others. Her play Tiny Fires was premiered by Custom Made Theater in 2023. She has been awarded fellowships and residencies by Poetry and the Senses at UC Berkeley, A Room of Her Own, Hedgebrook, and the Key West Literary Seminar. You can learn more about Aimee Suzara here.
Aimee has collaborated with Deep Waters Dance Theater and Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet. Based in Oakland, she teaches at San Francisco State University and College of San Mateo and is a writing coach with her business Wild Tongues. At Mesa, Aimee worked on a film adaptation of Tiny Fires, and began a project about her ancestor, writer and performer Venancia Suzara.
