Saraliza (ya) is a Chicana philosopher and an assistant professor of philosophy at California Institute of Integral Studies in the department of Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness. Ya specializes in monster theory and writes on Indigenous Chicane (Mexican/Mexican-American) and Daoist philosophy with a focus on metaphysics and spirit through a healing lens. Saraliza is also a passionate advocate for justice and accessibility in education. At Mesa Refuge, Saraliza worked on a project combining prose, poetry, and short stories on the nature of connection and its role in community relationships. Saraliza is the Toby Symington Sacred Advocacy Fellow.
