Sarah Wright

Alum 2025

Sarah Wright is a California-based journalist and editor who focuses on hyperlocal solutions to global problems. She is the editor of the Palo Alto Weekly after having spent a year researching community-led wildfire mitigation as a U.S. Fulbright fellow in Argentina. She was a staff writer for The San Francisco Standard, covering housing and transportation, and at the Half Moon Bay Review, where she reported on the COVID-19 pandemic and the worst wildfire in a century in the region. Sarah graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where she studied environmental policy through an international lens. She has also completed a 2,650-mile southbound trek across the United States along the Pacific Crest Trail. At Mesa, she worked on a three-part investigative piece that uncovers Argentina’s struggles with the climate crisis and platforms those most affected and who are working toward solutions to protect and adapt their communities to a new fire-prone reality in a country with few resources to tackle it.
