Sameer is Clinical Professor of Law, Associate Dean for Equity Initiatives, and Director of the Workers, Law, and Organizing Clinic at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. He has represented low-wage workers in litigation against exploitative employers and defended immigrants in deportation proceedings in clinics at five law schools. He has also worked with law students on community education projects in collaboration with immigrant and labor organizers in California, New York and Maryland. He writes about law, lawyering, and social movements. At Mesa Refuge, Sameer worked on a book about the conditions of low-wage work across borders structured by racial capitalism and the activism of workers, organizers, and lawyers against exploitation and extraction.
