Rachel Neumann

Rachel is a writer, literary agent, and mindfulness and movement teacher whose work focuses on the intersection of culture, politics, the unknown, and everyday life. She is the author of Not Quite Nirvana and I Am Home: Portraits of Immigrant Teenagers and CEO of Idea Architects, a leading literary agency. Her work has appeared in The Village Voice, The Nation, and Dissent Magazine, among others. She is the editor for Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. At Mesa, she worked on How to Start a Fire: Lessons for Building Community from a Revolutionary Childhood, which shares how she went from living in a remote rural commune to the middle of a city, with the goal of starting a revolution and returning to the country.
