Rachel Brahinsky

Rachel is a human geographer and an associate professor at the University of San Francisco, where she is affiliated with Urban and Public Affairs, the Politics Department, and Urban Studies program. A former journalist with a focus on urban policy and social change, her current research investigates the geography of race and property in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the Mesa Refuge she worked on a book on the untold story of multigenerational Black women’s activism in Bayview-Hunter’s Point.
