She now lives in Maine and is deputy editor of Zócalo Public Square.

Alum 2005Jane LaTour is a journalist and labor activist living in New York City. She has written for various union publications and managed the Women's Project of the Association for Union Democracy. She is a two-time winner of the Mary Heaton Vorse Award, the top labor journalism award in New York City

Ken Lamberton
Alum 2005Ken Lamberton is an American writer, artist, and naturalist. He is the author of several celebrated nonfiction books, including Wilderness and Razor Wire, which won the 2002 John Burroughs Medal for Outstanding Nature Writing.

Michael Kustudia
Alum 2005Michael Kustudia has been the manager of Milltown State Park since 2010. He has a B.A. in journalism and a M.S. in environmental studies from the University of Montana. Before joining Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, he pursued a career in the nonprofit sector, served in the Peace Corps, and worked seasonally for the National Park Service and as a river guide.

Merrill Goozner

Jeff Fair
Alum 2005Freelance field biologist and author Jeff Fair has made Alaska his home since 1995. In 2002, he coauthored Audubon Alaska’s Western Arctic Summary and Synthesis of Resources (pertaining to the National Petroleum Reserve–Alaska) and published his Status and Significance of Yellow-billed Loons in Alaska (The Wilderness Society).

Mary Dickson
Alum 2005In addition to her full-time position with the public television station, Mary Dickson is an award-winning Salt Lake City writer whose wide-ranging articles and commentary appear regularly in a variety of publications. She is a frequent commentator on public radio station KUER-FM 90.

Lauren Coodley
Alum 2002, Alum 2005Lauren Coodley began her career tutoring students for the GED and teaching night school psychology at the local junior college. She attained tenure the same year her son Nils was born; before that, she worked at least two jobs while raising her daughter Caitlin. She invented and taught classes ranging from overcoming math anxiety to children’s literature.
