Naja Pulliam Collins

Naja Pulliam Collins is an Associate Editor of Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of California Press, where she acquires books that explore themes of place, power, resilience, justice, and culture. Aligned with the Press’s mission to drive progressive change and amplify bold ideas, Naja is passionate about publishing books that challenge assumptions, promote equity, and spark dialogue on critical ecological and societal issues. In her role as editor, Naja partners with authors to communicate their vision clearly while guiding them through the various different stages of the publishing process including decisions about style, organization, and determining the best path forward for revisions.
As a board member of the Mesa Refuge, Naja is excited to help continue to shape the Mesa Refuge as a hub for meaningful storytelling, innovation, and transformative ideas. She is particularly dedicated to fostering a creative environment that elevates underrepresented voices and strengthens community-centered programming.
