Michelle Stevens

Michelle Stevens is a professor of environmental studies at Sacramento State, and the executive director of Hima Mesopotamia, an international multi-cultural non-governmental organization dedicated to the people and animals of the Tigris Euphrates watershed. Her training includes wetlands ecology, restoration ecology and ethnoecology. She has used this expertise in wetlands restoration and ethnoecology to work on the eco-cultural restoration of the Mesopotamian Marshes of southern Iraq. She contributed to numerous books, writing chapters focused on ecology, healing, and wetlands restoration.
