Michael Schut

Mike Schut’s retreat and workshop leadership, speaking, and writing seeks to connect faith, spirituality, simplicity, sustainability, and eco-justice. He served on the national Episcopal Church’s staff as Economic and Environmental Affairs Officer and also on staff for the Seattle-based Earth Ministry. Mike has also worked for Seattle University’s Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability and the Children and Nature Network.

Mike has edited/partially authored three books: Simpler Living, Compassionate Life: A Christian Perspective; Food and Faith: Justice, Joy, and Daily Bread; and Money and Faith: The Search for Enough.  Simpler Living, Compassionate Lifehas become a best-seller. He has a BS in Biology from Wheaton College and a MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon.  He lives in Seattle and enjoys anything outdoors, especially hiking, backpacking, skiing, and watching his nephew play soccer!  Mike also enjoys ice-cream as much as any kid out there.
