Matt Witt

Matt Witt is a writer, photographer, and backpacker. He has been an artist-in-residence at Crater Lake National Park, John Day National Monument, and Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. He is the author of In Our Blood: Four Coal Mining Families, a book about environmental and occupational health, racial justice, indigenous rights, and workplace democracy. His work has appeared in the The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and other publications. While at the Mesa Refuge, Matt worked on a book about the need for greater protection of the natural world.
