Martha Olson Jarocki

Martha Olson Jarocki has worked as the Communications Director at the Urban Habitat Program, which works to ensure the environmental and economic health of communities of color across the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been Editor of the journal Race, Poverty and the Environment and is a noted screenwriter, playwright and documentary video producer. At the Mesa Refuge, Martha worked on her book, Red Car Mysteries, a historical mystery novel about one woman’s discovery of the story behind the dismantling of Los Angeles’ streetcar systems in the late 1940s.
