Jessica Hurley
Alum 2002Jessica “Jessa” Hurley is an author whose work has appeared in Seventeen Magazine and USA Today. In addition to writing for print, Jessa has won two Emmy Awards for a documentary television series she wrote and produced about youth overcoming challenges. Prior to her publishing and broadcasting accomplishments, she was an Audience Development Producer, where she co-created content for Webby Award-winning health website. Jessa is a selected member of The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a judge for the Webby Awards, a member of the National Academy of Television and Sciences and recipient of the Common Council’s Mesa Refuge Writing Fellowship.
She is the author of Burn this Book… and Move on with your Life and One Makes the Difference, which she cowrote with Julia Butterfly Hill. She is interested in the power of media to change lives and volunteering with Foster children.
