Eugene Linden

Eugene Linden is an author who has written about animal intelligence, humanity’s relationship with nature, and the impact of climate change on the future of the planet. He has written many books, both fiction and non-fiction, and has contributed to The Wall Street Journal and MSNBC. He was a Linden was a senior writer for Time for eight years, and a regular contributor for another six.

Linden has been awarded a Citation for Excellence by the Overseas Press Club, the Harry Chapin Media Award for Best Periodical, and the Global Media Award for Best Periodical by the Population Institute. He also received two Genesis Awards for writing on the subject of animals for his articles Can Animals Think?  and Doomed. He has received a Yale University Poynter Fellowship, the Walter Sullivan Award for Excellence in Science Journalism from the American Geophysical Union, and the Grantham Prize Special Award of Merit in 2007. His latest book is Deep Past, which was voted the best science fiction book of 2019 by Mal Warwick’s blog.
