Christine Cordero

Raised by a Filipino immigrant family in the working class town of Pittsburg, CA, Christine is co-director of Asian Pacific Environmental Network. For over 20 years, Christine has strategized, organized and built coalitions across environmental health and justice, workers rights, and economic and racial justice issues. Previously, she was executive director of the Center for Story-based Strategy, training people and working with groups to reinvigorate narrative strategies for social justice. Christine is an ordained priest of the Chozen-ji line of Rinzai Zen. At Mesa Refuge, she worked on semi-autobiographical short stories, vignettes, and narrative poetry exploring themes on immigrant families, ancestral trauma and healing, environmental and social justice, and spirituality.
