Celeste Chan

Celeste Chan is an artist, educator, and organizer, schooled by DIY culture and immigrant parents from Malaysia and the Bronx. Her work ranges from creative nonfiction to performance to film. Celeste is a contributing editor for Foglifter Journal and a Teaching Artist for the Queer Ancestors Project. During her residency, she worked on “(Re)generation,” which traces how her family (of Chinese and Jewish ancestry) survived the Japanese occupation and the Holocaust, and questions whether we can transform or resolve the past.
