Bruce Byers

Bruce is an ecologist, independent consultant, and writer with more than 35 years of professional experience in more than 40 countries. Since 1994 he has provided ecological consulting services to a range of clients in the United States and abroad through his consulting business. His book, The View from Cascade Head: Lessons for the Biosphere from the Oregon Coast, was published in 2020. At the Mesa Refuge, he worked on the eight UNESCO biosphere reserves on the Pacific Coast including the Golden Gate Biosphere Reserve, which serves as a laboratory and model for healing the human-nature relationship, making it more sustainable and resilient.
