Anisse Gross

Alum 2022

Anisse is a writer and editor based in San Francisco. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The San Francisco Weekly and others. Anisse has been a finalist for the Plonsker Prize and the Annie Dillard Award in Nonfiction, and received the Clark Gross Novel Award. She has taught creative writing at San Francisco State University and The Writers’ Grotto. She is also a founding member of The Ruby, a creative community for women and nonbinary individuals. During the pandemic, two wild crows became her best friends. At the Mesa Refuge, she worked on a feature story about efforts to save the endangered desert tortoise in the Mojave Desert.
