Alise Alousi

Alise’s work has appeared most recently in The Museum of Americana and Glue Gun and is forthcoming in the anthology, We Call to the Eye & the Night. She works at InsideOut Literary Arts and is on the Steering Committee for Room Project, a space for women and non-binary writers in Detroit. In 2019, she was awarded a Kresge Literary Arts Fellowship. She currently teaches poetry at the Arab American National Museum to high school students. At the Mesa Refuge, she worked on a series of hybrid poems and essays that focus on the impact of years of war on the landscape and environment of Iraq as well as her own experiences as a first-generation Iraqi American.
