Alejandro Rodriguez

Alejandro is a Cuban-American theater artist from Miami. A graduate of Juilliard, he spent his early career performing on TV and in plays, including several world-premiere plays off-Broadway. His writing has been featured in collaborations with musicians, choreographers and filmmakers worldwide, including his work, Sorry, which enjoyed two sold-out runs at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center and later toured Canada. Previously he served as associate artistic director for PlayMakers and deputy executive director for Arts Ignite (formerly ASTEP), which brings arts education to children. At Mesa, Alejandro worked on a full-length play about end-of-life care among Cuban immigrants in South Florida, and the particular difficulties of dying in exile.
