This is week four of our six-week spring fundraiser, and we have $18,000 to go to meet our goal. Will you join us?

Please help us to support change makers like these who are working as grassroots activists and/or creating the intellectual infrastructure for movements contributing to a more sustainable and just world.

Donations of $125 and above qualify you and a friend to come to our homecoming picnic June 15 as our guests and be entered into a drawing for a complementary DIY retreat.

This week: meet Raj Patel.

Raj Patel, Michael Pollan Journalism Fellow 2015

Writer and Activist

I think of myself as a writer, and as an activist, researching and reporting on the movements for change in the world food system.

Those movements are fighting a permanent and dignified emergency. Being at the Mesa Refuge was a chance to be able to reflect on the shape and history of that long struggle, to meditate and refill the creative well, to walk in an old ecology and to draw from its reserves of peace…the better to be able to serve those change makers. Find out more about Raj on our website.

Please help us support change makers like Raj by donating to our Spring 2019 fundraising campaign.
