Over the past five years, we have worked hard to ensure that the Mesa Refuge will endure in perpetuity. We broadened our financial support, establishing more than twenty fellowships and grants that support our residents—none of whom are ever required to pay for their residency at the Mesa Refuge.

Early in 2018, we launched a new program for people who wish to pledge support to the Mesa Refuge in their estate plans. In November, we hosted a celebratory dinner in honor of the generosity of our Legacy Circle’s founding donors: Peter Barnes, Katy Butler, Claire Hope Cummings and Richard McCombs, Elaine Elinson and Rene CiriaCruz, Jaune Evans, Anna Lappe, Peter Mattair, Susan Page Tillett, Susan J. Tweit, and one anonymous donor. You can view a slideshow of images from that night on our Flickr site.

You can find out more about our Legacy Circle–and our other circles of giving—on our website. In these pages, you’ll find a sample Letter of Intent as well as a donor highlight of Alum Susan J. Tweit, one of our first legacy donors.

Thank you to all of you who have supported the Mesa Refuge’s mission and residents this year and each year! These circles of generosity are what allow us to continue to provide our residents with the time and space they need to work on their change-making projects.
