Maia Ipp is a writer of fiction and cultural criticism. Since 2015, she has worked in the US and in Central and Eastern Europe with Jewish and non-Jewish artists to critically and creatively examine Holocaust legacy and Jewish culture. She helped relaunch the historic leftist magazine Jewish Currents in 2018 and is a contributing editor. Maia co-founded and directs the New Jewish Culture Fellowship, which centers Jewish artists on the margins. At Mesa Refuge, she worked on a project about the complex process of bridge building between the traumas of European Jews in the Holocaust and displaced Palestinians in the 1948 Nakba and after.
