Shane Safir

Shane Safir is an educator, leadership coach, and writer who has worked at every level of the school system toward a single goal: educational equity and justice. Her experience spans 20 years in public education and includes founding June Jordan School for Equity in San Francisco, a national model identified by scholar Linda Darling-Hammond as having “beaten the odds in supporting the success of low-income students of color.”

Safir is writing a book entitled The Listening Leader: Creating the Conditions for School Transformation. She lives in Oakland, California with her husband, a math teacher, and their two children.
