Kiera Butler, a senior editor at Mother Jones, writes and edits stories about environment and health. While reporting for her Econundrums column, which answers readers’ green questions, she has met all sorts of interesting characters, from raw milk enthusiasts to feral cat hoarders. She is currently working on her first book, which is about 4-H club.
