George Goehl is the Co-Director of People’s Action. In 2016, he helped co-found the organization by merging five national organizations into one of the largest organizations of poor and working class people in the United States. People’s Action has operations in 30 states, including over 500 professional organizers who engage well over a million people in America. While at the Mesa Refuge, George wrote an article about the intersection of race and class weaving stories from his childhood in Southern Indiana and later as an organizer building power with poor white, Black, and Latino communities.
