Frances Lefkowitz

Frances Lefkowitz was nominated as a Mesa Refuge West Marin Community Fellow by Black Mountain Circle. Born and raised in San Francisco, she graduated from Brown University with a degree in anthropology and lived in New York and New England working in film, food, music and  publishing. As a writer, Frances is known for her memoir work, and publishes essays, articles, reviews, interviews, short stories and flash fiction in magazines including Whole Living, Health, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic’s Green Guide, Natural Health, The Sun, Utne Reader, Tin House, GlimmerTrain Stories, Poets & Writers, Fiction, Superstition Review, and many others. She now lives in Petaluma.
