Sasha Abramsky is a freelance writer and part-time lecturer in the UC Davis University Writing Program. His work appears regularly in the Nation, the American Prospect, Salon, and many other publications. Abramsky is the author of five books, three on the criminal justice system, one on hunger in America, and one a biography of President Obama. With a grant from the Open Society Foundation’s Special Fund for Poverty Alleviation, he is currently working on completing his next book, The American Way of Poverty. It will be published by Nation Books in 2013.
