Deb Kory, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and writer living in Berkeley, CA. Formerly managing editor of Tikkun: A Bimonthly Jewish Critique of Politics, Culture & Society, Deb has written about cultural and political issues for Tikkun, Huffington Post, and Alternet. While pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology at the Wright Institute, she wrote her dissertation on the involvement of psychologists at the highest levels of the profession in torture at Guantanamo and other CIA “black sites.” Deb is writing a book based on her dissertation research about the long history of collusion and financial entanglement between the psychology profession and the military, and the radical steps necessary to reform the profession and enlist psychologists in the greatest struggle of our times: global climate change.

Deb is the 2015 Jacob and Valeria Langeloth Fellow in Health in Writing.
