Boris Fishman

Boris Fishman was born in Minsk, Belarus. He has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and many other publications. In addition to time spent at the Mesa Refuge, he’s received residencies from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., and the La Napoule Art Foundation in France. (Though he got the most done at Mesa.) He holds a 2011-12 Fellowship in Nonfiction from the New York Foundation for the Arts.

His book, Don’t Let My Baby Do Rodeo was published by Harper in 2016 and was reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle.
